The Dare to Care Kids Club is a 501c3 nonprofit organization and is federal and state tax exempt. Dare to Care provides after school enrichment and social skills enhancement services, including seasonal full day camps for school-aged children, Monday - Friday. Our program is similar to the Boys and Girls Club and is a childcare license exempt organization.
The founder of the Dare to Care Kids Club is DaShayne Walker. She has a degree in Human Services and minored in Juvenile Delinquency. She is a teacher, a United States Marine Corps veteran, singer, songwriter and a five time published author. Since she opened her doors in 2000, she's tried to treat every customer like they were a part of a family. Many Dare to Care kids come to her at the age of 5 and remain forever. After 13, the children stick around and become junior counselors and some have even become paid staff by the age of 15. It's a great time for all.
